Description

R. Pouillon Champagne 1er Cru Brut Solera is a non-vintage blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, shaped by a Solera approach that brings together younger and older wines. The producer describes it as a wine of generational continuity, with the blend refreshed over time through what they call a principle of “eternal rejuvenation.”

Production
The cuvée is made using a Solera process in which younger and older wines are blended, allowing character to carry forward from one generation of the wine to the next. It is a Brut Champagne made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and designated Premier Cru; details about vineyard sites, harvesting and vinification beyond the Solera method are not provided.

Food & Serving
Its Brut style should work well with oysters, shellfish, smoked salmon and light, savoury appetisers. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C. Decanting is generally unnecessary for Champagne; pour shortly before serving to preserve its freshness and bubbles.
