Tasting Notes
The wine shows a vivid red colour with amber highlights, hinting at its long maturation. On the nose, it opens with a lifted freshness alongside notes of vanilla and dried berries, offering a beautiful mix of maturity and energy. The palate is rich and very dry, yet smooth and composed, with firm tannins and excellent balance. The blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano gives it both savoury complexity and backbone, while its long ageing potential lies in its structure and layered, evolving character.

Produced in Rioja from a traditional blend dominated by Tempranillo, with Garnacha, Mazuelo (Carignan), and Graciano adding complexity, the wine reflects the classic style of López de Heredia. The estate is known for its patient, low-intervention approach, and this Gran Reserva is aged for 10 years in oak barrels before bottling, then held further in bottle before release to ensure complete harmony and development.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for roast lamb, game, braised beef, mushroom dishes, and aged Manchego or other mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting gently in advance to allow the wine to open and show its full aromatic range.
