R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Blanco Gran Reserva 1996 is a remarkably rare white Rioja from one of Spain’s most storied producers. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful golden color that reflects its long maturation. The nose is perfumed, consistent, and highly complex, with layered aromas that unfold slowly and reward patience. On the palate, it is round, smooth, and wonderfully persistent, carrying a long sequence of lingering aromatic impressions. This is a white wine with impressive depth and remarkable aging potential, already beautifully evolved yet capable of holding its character for years to come.

Production
Produced in Rioja from a blend of 90% Viura (Macabeo) and 10% Malvasía, this wine comes from one of the region’s most traditional cellars. It is aged for around 10 years in oak barrels, followed by additional bottle aging before release, allowing the wine to develop its distinctive complexity, texture, and maturity.

Food & Serving
An excellent match for refined dishes such as roast poultry, turbot, lobster, aged Manchego, mushroom risotto, or dishes with nutty and savory elements. Serve slightly cool, around 12–14°C, and consider decanting if desired to allow its aromas to fully open after years of bottle age.
