Description

Quinta Santa Eufemia’s 10 Years White is a richly flavoured white Port, matured for a decade in oak casks and made from traditional local Douro grapes. Its balance of fresh citrus, ripe fruit and gentle toastiness makes it a distinctive choice for dessert or for sipping on its own.

Tasting Notes
A mature golden hue leads to aromas of apricot kernel, yellow flowers and fresh citrus. On the palate, concentrated fruit meets toasted oak notes, with lively acidity balancing the sweetness and carrying into a long, layered finish. The wine has already spent 10 years ageing in cask and is ready to enjoy. Further cellaring potential is not specified.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested from old Douro vineyards, where the varieties grow together in the same plots. The blend is made mainly from Malvasia Fina, Moscatel Galego and Rabigato. Fermentation takes place in granite vessels before grape spirit is added to preserve sweetness and bring the alcohol to just under 20%. The Port then matures for 10 years in 550-litre Port casks before bottling.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, alongside fruit-based desserts, pastries or blue cheese; it also works well on its own after a meal. Decanting is generally unnecessary for this cask-aged Port.
