Tasting Notes
Deeply colored and muscular, the 2021 Montestefano Riserva is built around concentrated dark fruit and a firm, authoritative structure. The nose unfolds with notes of new leather, spice, and menthol, layered over a core of ripe, dark-toned fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied and tightly packed, with broad shoulders, significant extract, and the kind of grip that suggests excellent development ahead. This is not a wine that rushes to reveal itself. It will benefit from patience in bottle, gaining nuance and aromatic complexity with a few years of aging. Once mature, it should show the classic finesse of Barbaresco alongside the cru’s deeper, more powerful personality.

Montestefano is one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Barbaresco, known for producing wines with depth, structure and ageworthiness. Food & Serving
Best served with rich, slow-cooked dishes such as braised beef, ossobuco, game, truffle pasta, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to bring out the aromatics and balance the structure. Decanting is recommended, especially in its youth, to allow the wine to open and soften.
