Production
Montestefano is one of Barbaresco’s most celebrated crus, a southwest-facing hillside with calcareous clay and limestone-rich soils that confer both power and precision to Nebbiolo. Produttori del Barbaresco sources fruit from dedicated member growers in this vineyard, all of whom work with low yields and careful, predominantly manual harvesting to ensure perfect selection of grapes at optimal ripeness. In the cellar, traditional vinification is employed: fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks with extended maceration to extract tannin and aroma, followed by long maturation in large neutral Slavonian oak botti. The wine is then further bottle-aged before release, with the magnum size chosen to preserve freshness and complexity over an even longer horizon.
