On the palate, the wine is notably textured and layered, with a firm yet polished structure that carries the fruit steadily across the finish. Production
Montefico comes from 3.9 hectares of vines planted on calcareous clay soils, a terroir that tends to produce Barbaresco with firm structure, intensity, and strong aging capacity. The grapes are harvested to preserve freshness and balance, then fermented in stainless steel to maintain purity of fruit and aromatic clarity before maturation in large oak botti, the classic traditional vessel for Barbaresco Riserva.

This wine is a natural match for braised beef, roast lamb, game, wild mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, as this will help the aromas and structure open more fully.
