Description
Poderi Marcarini Roero Arneis DOCG 2025 is a beautifully classic white from Piedmont, made from 100% Arneis in the historic Roero zone north of Barolo. The sandy, fossil-rich soils here lend the wine its signature freshness, mineral edge, and refined aromatic character, while Poderi Marcarini’s gentle winemaking keeps the style pure and elegant.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Arneis shows a straw-yellow color with golden reflections. The nose is inviting and expressive, with notes of citrus, ripe pear, white flowers, acacia blossom, and a delicate hint of honey and almond.
The palate is dry, fresh, and well balanced, with good volume, lively acidity, and a clean mineral finish that gives the wine its classic Piedmontese finesse. The 2025 vintage brings especially bright fruit and aromatic lift, making this a charming white with excellent drinking appeal now and the structure to stay lively over the short to medium term.
Production
The grapes come from Roero, a terroir defined by sandy soils rich in fossils and minerals, which naturally encourage freshness, precision, and a pronounced mineral profile in the wines. Harvesting is done with care to preserve the grape’s natural aromatic quality, and the wine is vinified entirely in stainless steel to maintain purity of fruit and crispness. After fermentation, it spends a short period on fine lees, adding subtle texture and complexity without losing its bright, mineral-driven style.
Food & Serving
This is a highly versatile food wine, ideal with seafood, shellfish, light pasta dishes, risotto, grilled vegetables, white meats, and fresh cheeses. Serve it chilled at around 8–10°C for the best expression of its aromatics and freshness. Decanting is not necessary.
Producer
Poderi Marcarini is a family-owned estate in La Morra, at the heart of the Langhe in Piedmont, with six generations of winemaking behind it. The estate is especially respected for its traditional, terroir-driven wines and its stewardship of some of Barolo’s most historic vineyard sites, including Brunate and La Serra. Alongside its acclaimed Barolos, the winery is known for elegant regional classics such as Roero Arneis, Barbera, and Dolcetto, all made with a focus on balance, authenticity, and finesse.
