Description

Pira Luigi Langhe Nebbiolo 2025 is a still red wine from Serralunga d’Alba, offering an elegant expression of Nebbiolo and the Langhe’s distinctive character. Made by a family with roots in these hills dating to the late 19th century, it combines bright varietal character with a measured period of oak ageing.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows an intense garnet-red colour. Its aromatic profile brings together ripe fruit and spice, with delicate hints of leather. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, supported by fine, sweet tannins and a persistent finish. No specific ageing window is provided.

Production
The Nebbiolo comes from the Pira family’s vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba, where calcareous clay soils, an altitude of around 310 metres and south- to southwest-facing exposures encourage even ripening and contribute to the wine’s structure and spicy character. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks over approximately 18–20 days, followed by nine months of maturation in Slavonian oak barrels. Harvesting methods are not specified.

Producer
The Pira family has been connected to the hills around Serralunga d’Alba since the late 19th century and farms 13 hectares of vineyards in the area. The winery began bottling its own wines in the 1990s, with a focus on quality and an authentic Piemontese style. Under oenologist Gianpaolo Pira, the estate continues to showcase the character of its local vineyards and Nebbiolo.
