Why shop with us?
Pierre Mignon Clos des Graviers Brut 2012 is a single-vineyard Champagne from Breuil in the Marne Valley, made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Its distinctive site and nine years of ageing on the lees give this vintage both depth and a fine, creamy mousse; Maison Pierre Mignon has been based in the region since 1892.
Tasting Notes
Bright white-gold in colour with green-gold highlights, it has a lively, persistent stream of bubbles. The nose brings cocoa, white pepper and light tobacco, layered with developed notes of brioche, honey and hazelnut.
Production
The grapes come exclusively from Clos des Graviers, a walled single vineyard in Breuil with vines dating to the 1950s. Made by the traditional method, the Champagne spends nine years ageing on its lees, developing complexity and a silky texture. Specific harvesting and vinification details beyond this are not provided.
Food & Serving
Its mineral freshness and mature, creamy character make it a natural match for shellfish, oysters, roast poultry or aged hard cheeses. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C. Decanting is not usually necessary for Champagne; open shortly before serving to preserve its fine bubbles.
Producer
Founded in 1892, Maison Pierre Mignon is a family Champagne producer in the Marne Valley. The Clos des Graviers cuvée reflects the house’s focus on expressing a specific vineyard site, with fruit sourced from a single plot in Breuil and extended lees ageing.
