Description

Pierre Mignon Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut is a refined expression of Chardonnay from some of Champagne’s most revered Grand Cru vineyards. Crafted exclusively from this noble white grape, it offers a pure, focused and mineral-driven style that highlights the finesse and precision of top terroirs. This cuvée embodies the estate’s dedication to traditional Champagne methods and the timeless elegance of Blanc de Blancs.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Champagne shows a pale, luminous straw color with fine, persistent bubbles and a delicate mousse. The nose is vibrant and precise, opening with notes of green apple, lemon zest and white flowers, layered with hints of chalk, fresh brioche and a subtle nuttiness that comes from extended lees aging. On the palate, it is dry, crisp and beautifully balanced, with a racy citrus backbone and flavors of pear, Granny Smith apple and a touch of white peach. A distinct chalky minerality runs through the wine, giving it tension and length, while nuances of toasted almond and pastry add complexity on the finish. Fresh yet structured, this Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs has the concentration and acidity to evolve gracefully over several years in the cellar, gaining more creaminess and complexity with time.

Production
Sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in the heart of the Champagne region of France, this Blanc de Blancs showcases Chardonnay grown on classic chalk and limestone soils that impart tension, finesse and a pronounced mineral character. Grapes are typically harvested by hand to ensure optimal selection and preserve the delicacy of the fruit. In the cellar, the wine is vinified using the traditional méthode champenoise: gentle pressing of whole clusters, cool fermentation to retain freshness and purity, followed by extended aging on the lees in bottle to develop texture, fine bubbles and subtle bakery notes before disgorgement and bottling as Brut.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is a natural companion to refined seafood dishes such as oysters, scallops, sushi, sashimi and delicate white fish, as well as caviar and lightly salted charcuterie. It also pairs beautifully with goat cheese, soft young cheeses and elegant canapés, making it an ideal apéritif Champagne. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) to showcase its freshness and precision. A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass is usually enough for it to open up; extended decanting is not necessary, though pouring into a larger-bowled Champagne glass can enhance its aromatic complexity.
