Description

Pierre Mignon Champagne Année de Madame Grand Vintage Brut Rosé 2015 is an elegant, vintage-dated rosé Champagne crafted for those who appreciate both refinement and character in the glass. Sourced from carefully selected vineyards in France’s prestigious Champagne region, this cuvée celebrates a single, expressive year while retaining the house’s signature finesse. The ‘Année de Madame’ label pays homage to the family’s heritage, combining tradition and modern craftsmanship in one beautifully poised bottle.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Grand Vintage Brut Rosé shows a luminous salmon-pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles that form a delicate and lively mousse. The color hints at both freshness and depth, inviting you in from the first pour. On the nose, expect an enticing bouquet of ripe red berries—think wild strawberries, raspberry and redcurrant—layered with notes of citrus zest, delicate rose petals, and a touch of brioche and spice from time on the lees. The palate is refined yet generous, offering a silky texture and a precise, dry structure. Flavors of juicy red fruits mingle with hints of blood orange, stone fruit, and subtle pastry tones, supported by a vibrant, chalky acidity that is very much a hallmark of Champagne. The finish is long, fresh and mineral, suggesting a wine that drinks beautifully now but also has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next several years if cellared well.

Production
Année de Madame Grand Vintage Brut Rosé 2015 is crafted from traditional Champagne grape varieties grown on the cool, chalk-rich slopes of the Champagne region in France, where the combination of limestone soils and a marginal climate delivers both tension and aromatic delicacy. Grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve acidity and purity of fruit, then gently pressed to ensure finesse. The rosé character is typically obtained either through a short maceration of red grapes or by blending a proportion of still red wine into the base wines—both classic methods in Champagne. Following the primary fermentation in stainless steel or temperature-controlled vessels, the wine undergoes its secondary fermentation in bottle and is aged on its lees for an extended period, building complexity, fine bubbles, and textural richness before disgorgement and dosage to the Brut level.

Food & Serving
This 2015 Brut Rosé Champagne is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with dishes such as salmon tartare, tuna carpaccio, grilled prawns, sushi, and lightly spiced Asian cuisine. It also shines alongside charcuterie, duck breast with berry accents, and soft to semi-hard cheeses like Brie, Chaource, or young Comté. Serve well-chilled, ideally around 8–10°C (46–50°F), to highlight its freshness and detail. A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass or in a decanter designed for sparkling wines will allow the aromatics to open without diminishing the delicacy of the mousse.
