Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color with a bright, youthful edge. The nose is elegant and layered, unfolding with ripe red cherry, wild berry, dried rose, and hints of spice, leather, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a core of dark cherry, plum, and savory Mediterranean herbs. The finish is long and poised, with the kind of structure that suggests excellent aging potential over the next 10–20 years, or longer in a good cellar.

Production
Pian delle Vigne lies south of the town of Montalcino, where the warm Tuscan climate is moderated by altitude and the estate’s well-drained soils, helping Sangiovese ripen with freshness and depth. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with careful temperature control to preserve aromatic purity and varietal character, followed by maturation in large oak casks that support the wine without overwhelming its expression.

Food & Serving
This Brunello pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, beef filet, game, mushroom dishes, and rich Tuscan cuisine such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù. Serve at around 16–18°C and, for best results, decant for 1–2 hours if opening young, allowing the wine to fully раскры its aromatic complexity and structure.

Pian delle Vigne is the Antinori family’s Brunello estate in Montalcino, named after the 19th-century railway station on the property.
