Description

Philip Togni Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 is a striking Napa Valley Cabernet from one of California’s most respected estate producers. Powerful yet beautifully composed, it shows the depth, precision, and longevity that have made Philip Togni a benchmark name for mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine is deep and intense, with a dark, vivid core that hints at its concentration. The bouquet opens with layers of dark red cherry, pomegranate, spice, mint, and subtle floral notes, all woven together with remarkable harmony. On the palate, it is full-bodied and unctuous, yet remains remarkably fresh and alive. The fruit is richly textured, but the wine’s structure and balance give it impressive lift and poise. This is a Cabernet built for the long haul and should develop beautifully over many years, gaining complexity and nuance with cellaring.

Production
Philip Togni Vineyard is an estate site in California, likely shaped by mountain-grown Napa terroir that brings structure, depth, and freshness to the fruit. The 2013 vintage was harvested from carefully managed estate vines and vinified to preserve the vineyard’s natural intensity, resulting in a wine that is both powerful and impeccably balanced.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with prime rib, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or game dishes such as venison. It is best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to fully open and show its complexity.

Producer
Philip Togni is a highly regarded Napa Valley producer known for producing age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon from his estate vineyard. Over the decades, the winery has earned a strong reputation for elegance, structure, and consistency, with wines that are sought after by collectors and admired as classic expressions of California Cabernet.
