Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby to purple hue, still youthful for its age. The nose is layered and evolving, with dense dark fruit, plum, black cherry, truffle, cedar, and a subtle earthy, mineral complexity that reflects Pomerol’s signature style. On the palate, the wine is massive yet polished, with velvety tannins, low acidity, and a remarkable sense of purity and precision. The fruit is rich and expansive, but always balanced by freshness and structure. While already magnificent, it has the stuffing to age for decades more and will continue to unfold over time.

Production
Pétrus comes from the Right Bank appellation of Pomerol, where the vineyard’s unique terroir plays a defining role in the wine’s character. The estate is planted entirely to Merlot, with old vines contributing remarkable depth and intensity, and the grapes are harvested with meticulous attention to select only the best fruit. Vinification is focused on preserving purity, concentration, and elegance, resulting in a wine of exceptional precision and texture.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef fillet, duck, truffle risotto, or game birds. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for an hour or two if opening now, especially to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to fully express themselves.
