Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color that hints at its concentration and depth. The nose is layered and expressive, with dark berries, ripe cherries, plums, and subtle spice, complemented by gentle toasted notes from oak aging. On the palate, Galatrona 2021 is full-bodied and structured, with ripe tannins, vibrant yet harmonious acidity, and a long, polished finish where fruit and spice remain in balance. While already highly enjoyable, it has excellent aging potential and should gain additional complexity over the next several years.

Production
Galatrona comes from Petrolo’s Tuscan vineyards, where the estate’s focus on terroir and careful farming shapes the character of the wine. The blend is led by Merlot, with small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and other local varieties, and is vinified to preserve depth, purity, and finesse before maturation in oak adds further structure and nuance.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for richer dishes such as grilled or roasted red meats, game, and lamb, as well as mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for an hour or two if drinking young to allow the aromatics and structure to open up fully.
