Petra Merlot Quercegobbe is a distinctive Tuscan Merlot that blends richness, freshness, and a clear sense of place. Born from the ambitious vision of Francesca and Vittorio Moretti, it reflects the Suvereto terroir with an elegant mineral signature and a refined, contemporary style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color with lively highlights. The nose opens with generous red berry fruit, followed by subtle spice and balsamic nuances of myrtle and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is remarkably elegant and deeply layered, combining a fresh, full-bodied profile with a pronounced mineral edge. Fine, silky tannins frame the wine beautifully, while its depth and balance suggest good aging potential over the next several years.

Production
Quercegobbe comes from Suvereto in Tuscany, where the soils are influenced by the nearby metalliferous hills and are rich in manganese and other metals. This unique terroir is central to the wine’s character, giving it a marked mineral identity. The grapes are carefully harvested and vinified to preserve the purity of Merlot fruit while highlighting the structure and freshness that define the wine.

Food & Serving
This Merlot pairs especially well with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, game birds, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C to bring out its aromatic complexity and finesse. Decanting for around 30–60 minutes is recommended if enjoyed young, to let the wine open fully in the glass.
