Petit Mouton 2020 is the second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild, offering a polished taste of Pauillac pedigree in a more approachable style. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it captures the power, precision and elegance that have made the Mouton name one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby hue with youthful intensity. The nose leans toward blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, cigar box and graphite, with subtle floral and spice notes adding lift. On the palate, expect a structured yet supple Bordeaux blend with ripe dark fruit, fine-grained tannins and a refined mineral edge. The finish is long and composed, with enough concentration to age gracefully over the next decade or more, developing more complex notes of tobacco, leather and truffle.

Production
Petit Mouton comes from the Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, where gravelly soils and excellent drainage help Cabernet Sauvignon reach full expression. The blend is typically assembled from carefully selected parcels and harvested by hand, with each lot vinified separately to preserve character and precision before final blending.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds and dishes with mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young to help the aromatics open and the tannins soften.
