Perillo Taurasi Riserva is a classic expression of Aglianico from the heart of Campania, shaped by the cool influence of the Calore Valley and a long family tradition of winemaking. This is a serious, age-worthy red that combines power, depth, and regional identity, with the structure and complexity that have made Taurasi one of southern Italy’s most respected appellations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, still youthful ruby-red tone that hints at its concentration and potential for further development. The nose unfolds gradually, revealing layers of ripe plum and cherry, lifted by balsamic notes of mint and resin, and grounded by earthy mineral accents of damp soil and graphite. On the palate, it is rich, warm, and enveloping, yet always kept fresh by vibrant acidity. The tannins are firm and substantial, giving the wine impressive volume and density. This is a Riserva built for time, with excellent aging potential that will reward patience over many years.

Production
The Aglianico grapes come from the Calore Valley in Campania, where the terroir lends the wine its distinctive mineral edge and freshness. The fruit is harvested by hand in November, allowing for full ripeness, and vinified with great care to preserve the grape’s natural depth and structure. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine matures for around 24 months in large Slovenian oak casks before being bottled unfiltered.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal partner for slow-cooked meats, braised lamb, game, rich beef dishes, and mature cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C, and if possible, decant for at least 1-2 hours to allow the wine to open and fully reveal its aromatic complexity and textural depth.
