Production
La Chapelle Hermitage is drawn from some of the finest parcels on the storied Hermitage hill in the northern Rhône, where steep, sun-drenched granitic slopes and complex soils of decomposed granite, pebbles and clay lend Syrah its trademark intensity and minerality. Vines here are typically low-yielding, carefully tended and harvested by hand due to the challenging, terraced terrain. In the cellar, the grapes are traditionally vinified parcel by parcel, with meticulous sorting and temperature-controlled fermentation to capture both aromatic purity and depth of flavor. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, a portion of which is new, to add subtle spice and structure without overwhelming the character of the fruit or the imprint of the terroir, before blending and bottling into this exceptional Solomon format for extended maturation.

This monumental Hermitage calls for equally noble cuisine: think roast lamb with rosemary, slow-braised beef short ribs, venison or other game, duck breast with dark berry sauce, or richly seasoned stews like daube de boeuf.
