Why shop with us?
Pascal Cotat’s Sancerre Grande Côte 2024 is a still Sauvignon Blanc from Chavignol, prized for its expressive minerality, citrus freshness and generous texture. Made in a traditional, small-scale style, it reflects the character of one of Sancerre’s most celebrated terroirs and the Loire Valley’s long-standing connection with Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting Notes
The nose is marked by mineral notes and fresh lemon. On the palate, the wine is full and rounded, with a defined structure, lively citrus character and a long finish. Its concentration and structure should allow it to develop over the next few years, though it can also be enjoyed while its freshness is vivid.
Production
From the Chavignol terroir in the Loire Valley, the wine is made from hand-harvested Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, then matured in old oak barrels, averaging around 60 years of age. The wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving its natural texture and sense of place.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled, around 10–12°C. Its freshness and mineral character make it a natural match for oysters, shellfish, grilled fish and goat’s cheese. Decanting is not essential, but a few minutes in a glass can help the wine open up.
Producer
Pascal Cotat is a small, respected domaine in Chavignol, an area renowned for distinctive Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc. The domaine’s hands-on vineyard care and traditional cellar practices, including spontaneous fermentation and maturation in old oak, place the emphasis on expressing the character of the site.
