Description

Pascal Champagne Fluence Brut Nature from Franck Pascal is an expressive grower Champagne that showcases the vibrant character of Pinot Meunier with no added dosage. Crafted as a Brut Nature, it delivers pure, unadorned fruit and terroir, refined by at least 24 months of aging on the lees. This cuvée stands out for its beautiful liveliness, sparkling freshness, and poised elegance, offering a modern interpretation of Champagne rooted in tradition.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Fluence Brut Nature typically shows a pale straw to light golden hue, animated by a fine and persistent bead of bubbles. On the nose, it is lifted and precise, with notes of crisp apple, pear, and white peach layered over citrus zest, white flowers, and a light chalky minerality. Subtle hints of brioche and fresh bread dough reflect its extended lees aging without overwhelming the wine’s bright, vibrant core. The palate is taut, dry, and energetic, with the high proportion of Pinot Meunier bringing generosity of fruit and a supple texture, while Pinot Noir adds structure and Chardonnay a chiselled, mineral backbone. Expect flavors of green and yellow orchard fruits, lemon and grapefruit, complemented by delicate pastry tones and a saline, limestone-driven finish. With its Brut Nature profile, the wine feels exceptionally clean and linear, yet still balanced and complete. Enjoy it now for its verve and dynamism, or cellar for 3–5 years to allow the texture and autolytic complexity to deepen.

Production
Fluence Brut Nature is crafted from Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay grown in carefully tended vineyards in the Champagne region of France, where chalk, limestone, and clay soils lend precision and tension to the wines. Franck Pascal is known for working with minimal intervention and a strong focus on soil health, often embracing organic and biodynamic principles to capture the truest expression of his terroir. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal ripeness and careful selection in the vineyard. In the cellar, gentle pressing and a meticulous, low-intervention vinification preserve purity and detail, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle and a minimum of 24 months of aging on the lees. The wine is disgorged without dosage (Brut Nature), allowing the natural balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality to define the style.

Food & Serving
This Brut Nature Champagne is a superb partner for clean, precise flavors—think oysters, scallop crudo, sashimi, and other delicate seafood dishes where its saline edge and bright acidity can shine. It also pairs beautifully with sushi, goat cheese, light poultry dishes, vegetable tempura, and refined vegetable-based starters. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) to highlight its freshness and finesse. A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass or a quick, light decant in a wide-bottomed carafe can help the wine open aromatically, but extended decanting is not necessary.
