Description
Agrapart Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Experience 19 Brut Nature is a deeply expressive grower Champagne crafted entirely from Chardonnay grown in some of the Côte des Blancs’ finest grand cru vineyards. This is a no-dosage, terroir-driven wine that showcases purity, tension and remarkable mineral depth. It’s designed for enthusiasts who value precision, authenticity and the unadorned character of great Champagne.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Experience 19 shows a luminous, pale straw colour with fine, persistent bubbles that form a delicate mousse. The nose opens with chalky minerality and citrus zest, then unfolds into layers of green apple, lemon curd, white flowers, crushed seashells and a subtle hint of toasted brioche and hazelnut from time on lees.
On the palate, this is razor-sharp yet beautifully balanced, with a bone-dry profile that highlights the wine’s saline, chalk-infused backbone. Flavours of citrus, crisp pear, tart stone fruit and a touch of almond intertwine with a bright, linear acidity and a long, mouthwatering finish. Brut Nature by design, it is pure and uncompromising, built more on finesse and texture than richness. While highly enjoyable now for those who appreciate tension and energy, it has the structure and concentration to develop further complexity over the next 5–8 years, gaining more creaminess and nutty depth with age.
Production
Experience 19 is born from Agrapart’s old-vine Chardonnay parcels in grand cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, such as Avize, Cramant and Oger, where chalk-rich soils and cool climate produce intensely mineral, long-lived wines. Vines are farmed with meticulous care, often using sustainable and organic-inspired practices that favour low yields and high concentration. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to ensure perfect selection in the vineyard. Vinification typically involves fermentation with indigenous yeasts, partial aging in neutral oak or older barrels, and extended lees aging in bottle to build texture and complexity, all without dosage (Brut Nature) so that the chalky terroir and natural balance of the fruit remain front and centre.
Food & Serving
This is a superb food Champagne, especially with refined, delicately prepared dishes. Think oysters, scallops, sashimi, carpaccio of white fish, lobster, caviar, or simply grilled prawns with lemon and herbs; it also shines with goat cheese, Comté, and lightly truffled dishes. Serve well-chilled but not icy, ideally around 9–11°C (48–52°F) to allow the aromatics to open without muting the texture. A brief decant of 10–15 minutes in a chilled carafe, or simply pouring the first glass and giving the bottle time in the glass, can help the wine reveal extra layers of complexity.
Producer
Champagne Agrapart is one of the benchmark grower-producers of the Côte des Blancs, based in Avize and family-run since the late 19th century. Over generations, the estate has built a reputation for crafting articulate, terroir-focused Champagnes that express the nuances of their grand cru Chardonnay vineyards. Working primarily with old vines rooted in deep chalk, Agrapart is widely admired for low-intervention viticulture, careful hand-harvesting and thoughtful, artisanal winemaking. Their cuvées, including the Experience series, have become reference points for serious Champagne drinkers, frequently praised by critics for their purity, precision and age-worthiness.
