Description
Parusso Barolo Mariondino is a distinctive Barolo crafted from 100% Nebbiolo in the heart of Piedmont, showcasing the Parusso family’s deep commitment to precision and character-driven winemaking. With its classic structure, expressive fruit, and elegant complexity, it captures both the tradition and the finesse that have made Barolo one of Italy’s most celebrated wines.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a ruby-red color that is already edging toward garnet, hinting at the depth and development to come. The nose opens with a swirl of sweet spices and ripe fruit, followed by layered aromas of cherry, mint, and licorice.
On the palate, the wine is captivating and fruit-forward, with a mature profile and smooth, sweet tannins balanced by a persistent, harmonious finish. It has the structure and concentration to age gracefully, gaining further nuance and savory complexity over time.
Production
The Mariondino vineyards in Barolo benefit from the cool, expressive terroir of Piedmont, where Nebbiolo reaches its most refined and age-worthy form. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested in small perforated baskets, then gently pressed before undergoing a long maceration. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts and without added sulfites, with close control of maceration time and temperature, followed by at least 18 months of aging in small oak barrels in contact with the local yeasts.
Food & Serving
Barolo pairs beautifully with rich, slow-cooked dishes such as braised beef, veal shank, truffle risotto, game, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine раскрыte its aromas and soften its tannins.

Armando Parusso is a respected name in Barolo, known for combining family tradition with an exacting, modern approach to vineyard and cellar work.
