Why shop with us?
Oddero Moscato d’Asti DOCG 2022 is a lightly sparkling, sweet white wine from Piedmont, made from the region’s celebrated Moscato Bianco grape. Fragrant, refreshing and modest in alcohol, it offers an elegant expression of Moscato d’Asti—an appellation recognised for wines that balance natural sweetness with lively acidity and gentle effervescence.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw-yellow in appearance with a delicate sparkle, this Moscato d’Asti opens with an intensely aromatic nose of ripe peach, white flowers, orange blossom and fresh grapes. On the palate, it is lightly sweet and softly textured, with flavours of pear, apricot and citrus balanced by bright acidity. The finish is fresh and fragrant rather than heavy. Moscato d’Asti is best enjoyed young, when its floral aromas and vibrant fruit are at their most expressive.
Production
The wine comes from the rolling hills of Piedmont, where Moscato Bianco thrives in calcareous, marl-rich soils and a temperate climate that helps preserve the grape’s pronounced aromatics and natural acidity. Moscato d’Asti is typically harvested by hand and made with a gentle pressing followed by cool fermentation. Fermentation is stopped before all the grape sugar is converted into alcohol, retaining natural sweetness and creating its characteristic low alcohol and delicate pétillance. Specific vineyard and cellar details for the 2022 bottling are not provided.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 6–8°C. Its floral sweetness and refreshing acidity make it a natural partner for fresh fruit, fruit tarts, panna cotta, almond-based desserts and light pastries. It also works beautifully with blue cheese or as an aperitif. Decanting is not recommended; serve shortly after opening to preserve its delicate aromas and gentle sparkle.
Producer
Oddero is a historic Piedmontese wine producer associated with the Langhe, an area renowned for Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato d’Asti. The estate has longstanding roots in the region and is known for producing wines that reflect Piedmont’s traditional grape varieties and distinctive hillside vineyards. Oddero’s portfolio spans both still and sparkling wines, including the region’s aromatic Moscato d’Asti.
