Tasting Notes
The wine opens with delicate aromas of crushed red berries, cinnamon, and orange peel, framed by a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, it is silky and understated, with bright red fruit, saline tones, and a long, persistent finish that feels both precise and harmonious. This is a vintage with excellent aging potential; it will benefit from a few years in bottle to soften further and reveal more depth.

Production
Gattinara is a high-altitude Nebbiolo wine from northern Piedmont, where cool mountain influence, volcanic soils, and excellent drainage help produce wines of freshness, tension, and perfume. The 2020 vintage reflects this terroir through careful harvesting and a vinification approach aimed at preserving finesse, aromatic detail, and structure.

This wine pairs wonderfully with truffle dishes, risotto with mushrooms, braised veal, roasted game birds, and aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 1 hour if drinking young to allow the aromas and texture to open up.
