Description
Moser Trento 51.151 Brut Magnum is a distinctive Metodo Classico sparkling wine from the mountains of Trentino, crafted under the prestigious Trento DOC appellation. Presented in a magnum format, it’s ideal for celebrations, offering greater elegance and aging potential than a standard bottle. This cuvée showcases the richness and precision of its alpine origin, where altitude, cool nights and meticulous winemaking come together in a refined, gastronomic style of Italian bubbles.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Moser Trento 51.151 Brut shows a bright, pale straw-yellow color with fine, persistent bubbles forming a delicate mousse. The nose is precise and inviting, offering notes of green apple, pear and lemon zest, layered with hints of white flowers, freshly baked bread, and a gentle touch of hazelnut and mineral.
On the palate, it is dry, vibrant and well-structured, with Chardonnay bringing finesse and citrus-driven freshness, while Pinot Nero contributes subtle red-fruited depth and backbone. A lively acidity is balanced by a creamy texture from extended lees aging, leading to a long, clean finish with lingering notes of brioche and stone. In magnum, this non-vintage Trento DOC has very good aging potential; over 3–6 years it will gradually gain more complexity, toast and nutty nuances while retaining its core tension.
Production
Sourced from hillside vineyards in Trentino Alto Adige, Moser 51.151 Brut reflects a cool alpine terroir marked by significant diurnal temperature swings, well-drained mountain soils and abundant sunshine. Chardonnay and Pinot Nero are harvested by hand to ensure optimum ripeness and careful grape selection. The base wines are vinified separately, then blended and bottled for a second fermentation according to the Metodo Classico, the traditional method used in top sparkling regions. Extended maturation on the lees in the bottle develops its fine perlage, complexity and autolytic notes. As a Trento DOC and a member of the Trento DOC Institute, Moser adheres to strict production guidelines that safeguard quality from vineyard to final disgorgement.
Food & Serving
This Trento DOC Brut Magnum is a versatile partner at the table, perfect as an elegant aperitif with oysters, prawns, and delicate fish carpaccio, or alongside sushi, tempura, and ceviche. It also pairs beautifully with creamy risottos, light poultry dishes, soft cheeses and charcuterie, making it a superb centerpiece for gatherings. Serve well-chilled at about 6–8 °C. In magnum format, a brief 10–15 minutes in the decanter or simply letting the wine open in the glass will allow the aromas and complexity to fully emerge.
