Description
Monteforte Rosso IGT Veneto La Corte 2024 is a fresh, approachable red from the hills of Veneto, crafted to highlight juicy fruit and effortless drinkability. Blending the local Corvina and Corvinone with a touch of Merlot, it offers a modern, versatile style that fits both everyday meals and relaxed gatherings. As part of the long tradition of cooperative winemaking in northern Italy, this wine delivers authentic regional character at excellent value.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Monteforte Rosso shows a bright ruby-red color with youthful violet highlights, underlining its freshness and 2024 vintage. The nose is inviting and fragrant, with pure aromas of red berries and ripe cherries, lightly accented by subtle floral and herbal notes.
On the palate, it is fruit-driven and immediately accessible, with flavors of redcurrant, cherry and a gentle hint of wild herbs. The texture is soft and harmonious, with rounded tannins and a medium body that makes it very easy to enjoy. A lively yet balanced acidity keeps the wine fresh and persistent on the finish. This is a wine made to be enjoyed young; it will drink best over the next 1–3 years while its vibrant fruit is at its peak.
Production
Cantina Monteforte sources the grapes for this IGT Veneto Rosso from gently rolling hills of volcanic origin in northern Italy, a terroir that lends both freshness and subtle mineral tension to the wine. The cooperative’s growers carefully tend their vineyards to achieve healthy, ripe fruit, typically harvesting at optimal maturity to preserve bright aromatics and balanced structure. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, allowing the pure character of Corvina, Corvinone and Merlot to shine without oak influence. After fermentation, the wine is matured briefly in stainless steel, maintaining its crisp, fruit-forward profile and softness on the palate.
Food & Serving
This Monteforte Rosso is an ideal match for rustic, everyday Italian dishes. Try it with hearty vegetable or bean-based soups, tomato-based pastas, lasagne, or pasta with meat ragù, as well as lighter meat dishes such as roast chicken, pork chops or veal escalopes. It also works well with antipasti, charcuterie and semi-hard cheeses. Serve at around 16°C to highlight its freshness and supple texture; in warmer weather, a very light chill can be refreshing. Decanting is not essential, but opening the bottle 15–20 minutes before serving will help the aromas open up.
