Montalbera La Tradizione is a distinctive expression of Ruchè, one of Piemonte’s most characterful native red grapes, from the hills of Castagnole Monferrato. Its floral perfume, spice and DOCG heritage offer a vivid taste of a variety long rooted in the region.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red with violet highlights, it opens with an intense bouquet of rose petals and violets, followed by subtle spicy notes. The palate is warm and full-bodied, with plum, pepper and delicate tannins leading into a persistent finish. The wine can develop added complexity and new nuances with time in bottle. Its expressive aromatics are especially rewarding after about an hour in a decanter.

Production
The vineyards lie among the rolling hills of Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, where clay-limestone soils and varied exposures support the grapes’ ripening. Montalbera farms its vines using organic and sustainable methods, training them low with the Guyot system. The wine is made by traditional red-wine vinification, with more than ten days of skin maceration, then aged in stainless-steel tanks to preserve Ruchè’s varietal character before resting in bottle. Food & Serving
Serve with mushroom risotto, or alongside flavourful roasted and grilled meats. Decant for around an hour to let the floral and spicy aromas unfold; serve slightly below room temperature.
