Description
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2008 Magnum is a striking expression of one of Champagne’s most celebrated houses, presented in an impressive magnum format that enhances both prestige and ageing potential. This vintage rosé combines Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir in a style that balances generosity, finesse, and aromatic complexity, making it a standout among Grand Vintage releases.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a refined rosé hue with luminous depth and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is immediately inviting, opening with ripe wild berries, forest fruit, wild strawberries, raspberries, and blackcurrant, followed by floral and botanical notes of rhubarb, violet, and a subtle hint of French sugar candy, lifted by nuances of vanilla and pink pepper.
On the palate, the wine is richly expressive and playful, evoking marshmallows, sweets, and candied apples before unfolding into layers of nutmeg, dried figs, and black cherries. Pinot Noir brings an airy elegance and a supple, gentle texture to the finish. Thanks to the magnum format and the quality of the 2008 vintage, this Champagne has excellent ageing potential and will continue to develop added depth and complexity over time.
Production
Sourced from Champagne’s renowned terroir, this Grand Vintage Rosé reflects the house style of Moët & Chandon through a careful blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir. The 2008 vintage is known for delivering freshness, structure, and precision, with grapes selected to capture both ripe fruit character and the mineral-driven elegance typical of the region. Vinification is carried out to preserve aromatic purity and to shape a rosé of remarkable balance and intensity.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled at 8–10°C, ideally in tulip-shaped Champagne glasses to capture the wine’s aromatic detail. It pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as salmon tartare, duck breast, roasted quail, lobster, or dishes with berry-driven sauces, and also works well with fruit desserts or delicate pâtisserie. Decanting is not recommended; instead, allow a few minutes in the glass for the bouquet to open naturally.
