Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Magnum is the iconic expression of one of Champagne’s most celebrated houses, presented here in magnum for enhanced freshness, slower aging, and a more refined evolution in bottle. Crafted from a blend of more than 200 crus, it showcases the classic balance of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier that has made Brut Impérial a benchmark for non-vintage Champagne since its introduction.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, luminous golden colour with a lively stream of fine bubbles. The nose is fresh and expressive, offering notes of apple, pear, white peach, lemon zest, blossom, and subtle hints of brioche and fresh nuts.
The palate is generous yet elegant, with a supple texture and an appealing sense of richness balanced by crisp freshness. Flavours of orchard fruit and citrus lead the way, followed by a clean, delicate finish that keeps the wine feeling vibrant and harmonious. The magnum format supports graceful aging, allowing the Champagne to develop added complexity over time while maintaining its finesse.
Production
Brut Impérial is built from a carefully selected blend of over 200 crus across Champagne, with a typical composition of 30-40% Pinot Noir, 30-40% Pinot Meunier, and 20-30% Chardonnay. This broad sourcing gives the wine its signature depth, consistency, and balance, combining structure, fruit, and freshness.
The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified separately before blending, with the final cuvée assembled to preserve the house style year after year. The result is a Champagne that reflects both the diversity of the region and the precision of Moët & Chandon’s blending expertise.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at 8-10°C. It pairs beautifully with sushi, shellfish, and fish in light sauces, but also works wonderfully with white meats and fresh fruit salads that are not overly sweet. Decanting is not recommended; simply open and serve to enjoy its purity and mousse at their best.
Producer
Founded in 1743, Moët & Chandon is one of the most famous Champagne houses in the world and a defining name in the region. Based in Épernay, the house has long been associated with celebration, prestige, and an unmistakable house style built on richness, elegance, and consistency. Its Brut Impérial cuvée remains one of the best-known non-vintage Champagnes globally and a major reference point for the category.
