Description

Marsuret Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Il Soller Extra Dry is a refined expression of Glera from some of the steepest, sun-drenched hillsides in Valdobbiadene. Crafted as a DOCG Prosecco Superiore, it balances vibrant freshness with generous fruit, wrapped in a fine and persistent mousse. This cuvée draws its name and character from Marsuret’s most protected vineyards, where exposure and slope combine to deliver concentration, elegance, and a distinctive sense of place.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Il Soller shines a pale straw yellow with bright, silvery highlights and a lively, continuous perlage. The nose is fresh and delicate, opening with ripe orchard fruits—especially crunchy green apple and pear—supported by hints of white peach, citrus blossom, and a subtle floral lift. On the palate, this Extra Dry Prosecco Superiore is inviting and rounded, with a soft, creamy mousse and a juicy core of ripe fruit. Flavours of apple, pear, and stone fruit are layered with gentle notes of acacia and a touch of citrus zest, all framed by a clean, well-defined structure. The finish is aromatic, elegant and pleasantly off-dry, with enough acidity to keep it lively and refreshing. Best enjoyed within 2–3 years of release to capture its most vibrant, fruity character.

Production
Il Soller is sourced from Marsuret’s most sheltered, steeply sloping vineyards in the heart of Valdobbiadene, where the hills face the sun and benefit from excellent drainage and significant day–night temperature swings. These conditions allow Glera grapes to ripen fully while preserving their natural acidity and delicate aromatics. Grapes are typically harvested by hand due to the steep terrain, with careful selection to ensure only healthy, perfectly ripe bunches are used. Vinification follows the Charmat (Martinotti) method, with a gentle pressing, cool temperature-controlled fermentation of the base wine, and a secondary fermentation in stainless steel pressure tanks to create the fine, persistent perlage that defines this Prosecco Superiore.

Food & Serving
This Prosecco Superiore is a natural aperitif and pairs beautifully with light canapés, fresh seafood, sushi, cured meats, and delicate antipasti. It also works well alongside mild cheeses, vegetable tempura, and simple pasta dishes with shellfish or fresh herbs. Serve well-chilled at 6–8°C to highlight its freshness and aromatic purity. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and pour, allowing the wine a minute in the glass for the bouquet to fully unfold.

Producer
Marsuret is a family-run winery based in the heart of Valdobbiadene, one of the historic and most prestigious zones for Prosecco production in Italy’s Veneto region. Over generations, the estate has specialized in cultivating steep hillside vineyards, many of which are worked almost entirely by hand, a hallmark of the traditional ‘heroic viticulture’ of the area. Marsuret has earned a strong reputation for producing characterful, terroir-driven Prosecco Superiore wines that respect local traditions while maintaining consistently high quality. Il Soller stands as one of their flagship expressions, showcasing the finesse and aromatic intensity that Valdobbiadene DOCG can achieve.
