Why shop with us?
Marquis de Terme 2023 is a polished Fourth Growth from Margaux, one of Bordeaux’s most admired appellations for elegance and perfume. Produced at a historic classified estate, it brings together classic Left Bank structure with the refinement and aromatic lift that define great Margaux wines.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a deep ruby colour with youthful purple reflections. The bouquet typically opens with blackcurrant, blackberry, violets, cedar, and subtle spice, alongside a fresh, graphite-tinged edge that speaks to its Bordeaux origins.
On the palate, this is usually medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a layered core of dark fruit, floral notes, and gentle oak spice. The finish should be long and composed, with the balance and structure to age gracefully for many years, developing greater complexity over time.
Production
Marquis de Terme is rooted in the gravelly soils of Margaux, where well-draining terroir and the maritime influence of Bordeaux help produce wines with finesse, freshness, and depth. As with most classified estates in the Médoc, the grapes are typically harvested parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness, then vinified with careful extraction and ageing in oak barrels to preserve purity while building structure and complexity.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison, and mushroom-based dishes, as well as hard, aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine खुल fully and soften the tannins.
