Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with purple highlights in youth. The nose is expressive and layered, with blackcurrant, ripe plum, cedar, violet, tobacco, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a balanced core of dark fruit, graphite, and oak spice. The finish is long and graceful, with the floral lift Margaux is known for. This vintage should age beautifully, developing greater complexity over the next decade or more.

Production
Marquis de Terme is sourced from gravelly soils in Margaux, where excellent drainage helps Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot ripen with precision, while Merlot adds suppleness and mid-palate richness. The grapes are typically harvested parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness and aromatic detail. Vinification is carried out with the goal of expressing the estate’s terroir, combining careful extraction with élevage in oak to build structure, finesse, and longevity.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, game birds, or mushroom-based dishes. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if opening young to allow the aromas and tannins to fully open up.
