Marqués de Riscal Reserva 2019 is a classic Rioja red from one of Spain’s most iconic historic estates. Crafted from Tempranillo with a touch of Graciano, it combines elegance, freshness, and the polished oak influence that has long defined the Reserva style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright garnet-red color with good depth. The nose is expressive and refined, with red and black berries, dried herbs, vanilla, cedar, and subtle spice from oak aging. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and well balanced, with ripe cherry and plum fruit, lively acidity, and smooth tannins that give the wine a graceful, food-friendly structure. The finish is long and savoury, with notes of spice and toasted oak. While already approachable, it should continue to develop well over the coming years, gaining more complexity and tertiary character.

Produced in Rioja, where the mix of limestone, clay, and varied hillside exposures helps preserve freshness and aromatic precision, this Reserva is made from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes selected for balance and character. The wine is traditionally harvested and vinified with a focus on extracting ripe fruit while maintaining elegance, followed by ageing in oak to build structure, complexity, and the signature Rioja Reserva profile.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled beef, ibérico ham, mushroom dishes, and aged Manchego. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–45 minutes is recommended if you want to soften the tannins and bring out the wine’s layered aromas.
