Marie Courtin Champagne Extra Brut Concordance 2020 is a focused, terroir-driven Champagne that showcases Pinot Noir in a pure and expressive style. Made for those who appreciate precision over power, it offers a distinctive, mineral-led profile with the signature tension and elegance that have made grower Champagne so sought after.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is bright and layered, with red berry fruit, citrus zest, orchard notes, and subtle floral and chalky nuances that bring freshness and lift.
On the palate, it is dry and energetic, with crisp acidity, pinpoint structure, and a clean, linear finish. The Pinot Noir character gives the wine subtle depth and texture, while the Extra Brut dosage keeps everything taut and refined. It is delicious now for its vitality, but should also hold well over the next several years as its complexity continues to unfold.
Production
Concordance 2020 comes from Marie Courtin’s organically focused approach in Champagne, where vineyard expression and minimal intervention are central. The wine is made from Pinot Noir grown in carefully tended parcels, with harvesting done by hand to preserve fruit quality. Vinification is kept restrained to allow the character of the vintage and terroir to remain at the forefront, resulting in a Champagne that feels precise, authentic, and transparent.
Food & Serving
This Champagne pairs beautifully with oysters, sashimi, shellfish, roasted poultry, or a simple plate of aged cheeses. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider a short period of aeration in the glass rather than decanting, which is generally unnecessary for Champagne.
Producer
Marie Courtin is a respected grower-producer in Champagne, known for crafting wines with a strong sense of place and a minimalist winemaking philosophy. The estate has gained a loyal following among Champagne enthusiasts for its purity, restraint, and expressive single-vineyard style, helping to reinforce the region’s reputation for exceptional artisanal wines.
