Description

Château Margaux 2007 is one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated first-growth wines, offering the elegance, finesse, and longevity that have made the estate a benchmark for the Médoc. Blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, it captures the classic Margaux style in a cooler, more restrained vintage.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby core with developing garnet edges. The nose is refined and layered, with notes of blackcurrant, red cherry, cedar, violets, tobacco, and a subtle mineral lift, all framed by polished oak. On the palate, the wine is precise and graceful rather than powerful, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a silky texture. Expect flavors of cassis, plum, graphite, spice, and floral tones, finishing long and composed. While already expressive, Château Margaux 2007 still has the structure to age further and gain complexity over time.

Production
Produced in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, the wine comes from gravelly soils that favor Cabernet Sauvignon and support excellent drainage and ripening. Grapes are typically harvested by hand and vinified with great care to preserve purity, balance, and aromatic detail, followed by aging in French oak barrels to build texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and dishes with mushrooms or truffle. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opened in its youth to allow the bouquet and structure to fully open.

Producer
Château Margaux is one of Bordeaux’s legendary first-growth estates, with a history dating back centuries and a reputation for producing wines of exceptional finesse and longevity. As a cornerstone of the Margaux appellation, it is admired worldwide for its consistent quality and has long stood among the most prestigious names in fine wine.
