Description

Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for 12 years in a combination of American and European oak sherry-seasoned casks. This new-look 2026 release is known for its balance of gentle sweetness, bright citrus and warming spice.

Aroma & Palate
The nose and palate bring together fruity citrus, vanilla and caramel with notes of toffee and chocolate. Ginger and nutmeg add a gentle spice, while the finish is smooth and rounded, with lingering sweetness.

Distillation & Maturation
Macallan selects its oak carefully, with the wood seasoned and fashioned into casks in Jerez, southern Spain. The casks are seasoned with Oloroso sherry before being sent to Scotland, where they mature the whisky. This Double Cask expression uses both American and European oak sherry-seasoned casks.

Serving Suggestions
Enjoy it neat at room temperature to appreciate its layers of citrus, sweetness and spice, or add a few drops of water to open up the aromas. It also works well over a large ice cube, or as a polished base for a whisky cocktail such as an Old Fashioned.
