Lungarotti’s 2021 Sagrantino di Montefalco showcases Sagrantino, Umbria’s distinctive native red grape, in a rich, structured style. With its vivid colour, spiced berry character and firm yet polished tannins, it offers a taste of one of the region’s most historic wine varieties.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-red in colour, with clear violet highlights. The intense bouquet brings together cocoa, green spices, clove and cinnamon, alongside ripe berry and plum preserve notes. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and full-bodied, with dense, ripe tannins balanced by lively acidity. Its long, gently austere finish reflects Sagrantino’s naturally structured character. The firm tannins suggest it can reward further cellaring, though the precise drinking window is not specified.

Food & Serving
Serve with hearty dishes such as grilled or braised red meat, game, slow-cooked lamb or aged hard cheeses. A serving temperature of around 16–18°C should bring out its fruit and spice; decanting for about an hour before serving can help the wine open up.
