Tasting Notes
Cristal 2013 pours a luminous pale gold with a very fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, almond paste, and citrus oil, gradually gaining depth and nuance in the glass. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied yet wonderfully weightless, combining fresh acidity with a seamless, multidimensional texture. The wine is intense without feeling heavy, finishing long, penetrating, and impeccably defined. It has excellent aging potential and should continue to gain complexity over many years.

Production
Cristal is sourced from Louis Roederer’s top vineyard parcels in Champagne, where chalk-rich soils and meticulous vineyard work provide exceptional clarity and finesse. The 2013 vintage benefited from a cool growing season, which helped preserve freshness and precision while allowing the fruit to ripen slowly and evenly. Harvesting is carried out by hand, with rigorous selection in the vineyards and cellar. The wine is vinified with a focus on purity and tension, followed by extended aging on the lees to build depth, texture, and the refined mousse that define Cristal.

Food & Serving
Cristal 2013 is superb with oysters, scallops, langoustine, sashimi, or delicate dishes featuring white fish and citrus. It also pairs beautifully with truffled poultry, fine-aged cheeses, or simply as a celebratory aperitif. Serve chilled, ideally at 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended; instead, allow the wine a few minutes in the glass to open gradually.
