Tasting Notes
Cristal 2009 shows a brilliant golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The bouquet is expressive and layered, opening with white flowers, citrus zest, and ripe orchard fruit, then unfolding into notes of toasted brioche, hazelnut, and subtle mineral depth. On the palate, it is silky yet structured, with generous ripe fruit balanced by vibrant freshness and a long, chalk-driven finish. The warm 2009 vintage gives the wine a rounded, resonant texture, while the magnum format supports graceful development over time. It is already compelling now, but it has the concentration and balance to age beautifully for many years.

Production
Cristal 2009 is sourced from some of Louis Roederer’s finest vineyard holdings, including a large proportion of Grand Cru parcels, selected for ripeness, purity, and balance. The 2009 growing season delivered warm, sunny conditions that produced concentrated grapes with excellent phenolic maturity. The blend is approximately 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, with part of the wine vinified in oak casks and no malolactic fermentation, preserving freshness while adding complexity and texture.

Food & Serving
This is a Champagne for refined dining, pairing beautifully with lobster, scallops, caviar, sushi, truffle dishes, and delicate poultry or veal preparations. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and consider brief decanting only if you wish to open up the wine’s more complex aromas; in most cases, gentle opening in a wide glass will be enough to let it shine.
