Why shop with us?
Louis Roederer Collection 246 is a non-vintage Champagne that brings together Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. Its blend includes 10% reserve wines from 2012–2017, aged in oak, adding depth to a cuvée designed to be enjoyed now or cellared for several years.
Tasting Notes
The palate offers ripe yellow-fruit flavours of mirabelle plum and nectarine, lifted by candied lemon. Vanilla and toasted oak notes add warmth and complexity. Enjoy now, or cellar for several years to allow the Champagne to develop further.
Production
The grapes come from three key Champagne areas: the Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. The blend comprises 54% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 11% Meunier. The 2021 harvest took place from 13 to 30 September, and the cuvée includes 10% reserve wines from 2012–2017 that were aged in oak barrels. Further details on vineyard practices and vinification are not provided.
Food & Serving
A versatile choice with seafood, oysters, sushi or lighter poultry dishes; its ripe fruit and toasted notes also suit aged hard cheeses. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C. Decanting is not usually necessary for Champagne, though a brief rest in a glass can help open up its aromas.
Producer
Founded in 1776, Champagne Louis Roederer is an established Champagne house based in Reims. It is known for its focus on estate-grown fruit and for producing Cristal, one of the region’s best-known prestige cuvées.
