Livio Felluga Colli Orientali del Friuli Pinot Grigio 2025 is a benchmark white from one of Friuli’s most admired producers. Known for its finesse, elegance, and the subtle auburn hues that distinguish Pinot Grigio at its best, it captures the cool-climate precision that has made this style famous around the world. It is also widely regarded as the best-known Friulian wine internationally.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the refined, lightly coppery color typical of well-made Pinot Grigio, with a bright, polished appearance. The nose is delicate and expressive, offering fresh floral notes, orchard fruit, and a subtle mineral edge.
On the palate, the wine is crisp, graceful, and finely textured, balancing freshness with quiet depth. Livio Felluga’s restrained style highlights the grape’s natural elegance rather than overt richness, giving a clean, harmonious finish that makes it highly appealing युवा and enjoyable in its youth. It is best appreciated for freshness, though it can gain a little extra roundness over the short term.
Production
The Pinot Grigio grapes are grown in the hilly Colli Orientali del Friuli, where cooler temperatures and varied slopes help preserve acidity and aromatic finesse. This hillside terroir is particularly well suited to the variety, which thrives in cool climates and develops best where ripening is slow and balanced.
Livio Felluga’s vinification is designed to preserve purity and elegance while maintaining the wine’s characteristic auburn tones. The approach emphasizes careful handling of the fruit and a clean, precise style that reflects both the grape and its Friulian origin.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to keep the wine fresh and vibrant. It pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, light pasta dishes, risotto, grilled vegetables, and delicate white meats. Decanting is not necessary.
Producer
Livio Felluga is one of the most iconic names in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with a history closely tied to the rise of the region’s modern wine identity. The estate helped put Friulian white wines on the map internationally and remains a reference point for quality, authenticity, and elegance. Its reputation is built on decades of excellence and a consistent ability to express local terroir with clarity and finesse.
