Description
Letrari Trento Brut Rosé is a refined traditional-method sparkling wine from the alpine vineyards of Trentino Alto Adige. Crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, it delivers the poise and freshness you’d expect from mountain-grown fruit, wrapped in an elegant, pale rosé style. As one of the pioneers of Trento DOC sparkling wines, Letrari brings decades of expertise to this cuvée, balancing vibrant energy with real depth of character.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Brut Rosé shows a delicate onion‑skin to soft salmon hue, animated by a fine and persistent mousse. On the nose, expect lifted aromas of wild strawberry, pomegranate, blood orange zest, and crushed raspberry, layered with hints of rose petals, alpine herbs, and a subtle biscuity note from time spent on the lees.
The palate is crisp and focused, with a lively, tensile acidity that reflects its cool mountain origins. Red berry fruit—think wild strawberries and redcurrants—is framed by citrus and a gentle mineral edge, giving the wine both charm and structure. The dosage is kept in check, so it finishes dry, clean, and delicately saline, with a lingering impression of pink grapefruit and brioche. While it is crafted for immediate enjoyment, this Trento Brut Rosé has the backbone to develop additional complexity over 2–4 years in bottle, gaining more autolytic, toasty nuances over time.
Production
Letrari sources grapes from high-altitude vineyards in Trentino Alto Adige, where steep, well‑drained slopes, abundant sunshine, and cool alpine nights promote slow, even ripening and vibrant natural acidity. The Chardonnay brings finesse and citrus‑driven precision, while Pinot Nero contributes color, structure, and subtle red‑fruited aromatics. Grapes are typically hand‑harvested to preserve intact clusters and strict selection. After a gentle pressing and separate vinification of the base wines, the final cuvée is assembled and undergoes second fermentation in bottle following the traditional metodo classico. Extended aging on the lees in the cool cellars of Trento adds texture, fine bubbles, and those delicate brioche and pastry notes that complement the wine’s fresh, fruit‑driven style.
Food & Serving
This Trento Brut Rosé is a versatile partner at the table, ideal with charcuterie, salmon carpaccio, tuna tartare, sushi, or lightly grilled prawns. It also works beautifully with creamy soft cheeses, poultry dishes with herbs, or a simple risotto with shellfish. Serve well‑chilled at around 6–8 °C to highlight its precision and freshness. A brief, gentle swirl in the glass is generally all that’s needed; decanting is not required, though opening the bottle a few minutes before serving allows the aromas to unfurl nicely.
