Tasting Notes
The 2021 vintage shows a deep ruby color with inviting purple reflections. On the nose, it opens with ripe dark berries, plum, violet, sweet spice, and subtle hints of cedar, tobacco, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is supple and generous, with ripe blackberry and black cherry framed by fine tannins and well-integrated oak. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc bring structure and lift, while Merlot lends softness and approachability. Petit Verdot adds extra color, grip, and complexity. Already expressive, it also has the concentration and balance to age gracefully for several years.

Production
Crafted from a Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia comes from carefully selected vineyard parcels around Bolgheri on Tuscany’s coastal plain. The maritime climate, warm days, and cooling breezes help preserve freshness while promoting full phenolic ripeness. Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with the same attention to detail that defines the estate’s flagship wine, with fermentation and ageing designed to preserve purity of fruit, structure, and elegance.

Food & Serving
Ideal with grilled beef, lamb chops, braised short ribs, game, or rich mushroom dishes. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and Tuscan-inspired cuisine. Serve at 16–18°C and decant for around one hour if enjoying young, especially from a large-format bottle, to allow the aromas and texture to open fully.
