Description

Le Marchesine Audens is a non-vintage Franciacorta made from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, with no dosage added after disgorgement. Its dry, unadorned style lets the wine’s fruit and lively acidity take centre stage, in the traditional bottle-fermented style for which Franciacorta is known.

Tasting Notes
Expect a pale, bright appearance and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose may show citrus, crisp apple and pear, with subtle notes of bread or pastry from its time on the lees.

Production
The blend brings together Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir from Franciacorta in Lombardy, where glacially formed soils and the moderating influence of nearby Lake Iseo shape the region’s growing conditions. Franciacorta is made by the traditional method, with its second fermentation in bottle; Audens is finished without dosage, keeping the final style notably dry. Specific harvest and ageing details for this cuvée are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 6–8°C, in a tulip-shaped sparkling-wine glass. Its dry, fresh profile suits oysters, shellfish, fried seafood, delicate fish dishes and savoury aperitif snacks. Decanting is not recommended.

Le Marchesine is a family winery based in Passirano, in the heart of Franciacorta. Established in 1985 by the Biatta family, it has become one of the region’s recognised producers of traditional-method sparkling wines.
