Description
Le Guaite di Noemi Amarone della Valpolicella 2013 is a finely crafted expression of one of Italy’s most iconic red wines, combining power with remarkable elegance. Built from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, it shows the classic depth of Amarone while remaining surprisingly graceful, with low residual sugar and a refined, vertical style that avoids heaviness.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it pours a deep, intense ruby with youthful garnet reflections. The nose opens immediately with spicy red fruit, especially blackberry and cherry, followed by darker, more savory layers of cocoa, leather, chocolate, tobacco, and a hint of incense.
On the palate, it is warm, smooth, and beautifully balanced, with a persistent softness that carries the fruit and spice through a long finish. A subtle balsamic note and a refreshing menthol character reflect the valley and soil, adding lift and complexity. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, gaining further nuance and depth over time.
Production
Produced in Veneto from the traditional Amarone blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, this wine is shaped by the region’s distinctive terroir and the drying technique that defines Amarone. The grapes are carefully selected and dried before vinification, concentrating flavor, structure, and aromatic intensity while preserving the wine’s elegance and finesse.
Food & Serving
This Amarone pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as braised beef, game, slow-cooked lamb, aged cheeses, and mushroom-based recipes. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to fully open.
Producer
Le Guaite di Noemi is a producer in Valpolicella focused on expressing Amarone with precision, balance, and a strong sense of place. The estate is known for highlighting the character of its valley and soils through wines that combine traditional craftsmanship with notable elegance and drinkability.
