L'Aventure Cuvée Estate 2014

L'Aventure Cuvée Estate 2014 is a flagship Paso Robles red that brings together the power of California with the structure and complexity of a classic Rhône-Bordeaux blend. Crafted by Stephan Asseo, it stands out for its generous concentration, polished oak treatment, and remarkable aging potential.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in the glass, the wine opens with an expressive nose of cassis, blueberry, blackberry, plum, violets, tar, toasted spice, graphite, and a touch of earthy herbaceousness. On the palate it is rich and full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit at the core, supported by fine acidity, dense tannins, and a long, intense finish that combines power with surprising grace. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now with decanting, but it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 15–20 years.

Production
The grapes come from sustainably farmed vineyards in Willow Creek, Paso Robles, an area prized for its limestone-rich soils and cooling maritime influence. The 2014 blend is composed of 50% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Petit Verdot, harvested to preserve ripeness and balance. After vinification, the wine matured for 15 months in French oak barrels, with 81% new oak adding depth, texture, and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
Serve this wine at around 16–18°C and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young. It pairs especially well with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb chops, venison, and richly seasoned dishes such as rosemary roast lamb or pepper-crusted steak.
