Description
Laurent-Perrier Champagne La Cuvée Brut Magnum captures the house’s signature style in a generous 1.5L format, perfect for celebrations and serious Champagne lovers alike. Crafted predominantly from the purest first-press juice, this non-vintage cuvée is all about finesse, freshness and precision. A high proportion of Chardonnay, supported by Pinot Noir and Meunier, delivers a refined, elegant profile that has become the hallmark of Laurent-Perrier across generations.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, La Cuvée Brut shows a pale golden color with a fine, persistent mousse that forms a delicate, creamy bead. The nose opens with fresh citrus and white flowers, followed by notes of crisp apple, pear and a subtle touch of brioche and almond from extended aging on the lees.
On the palate, this Champagne is vibrant and beautifully balanced, combining lively acidity with a silky, rounded texture. Flavors of lemon zest, green apple and ripe peach are layered with hints of toasted bread, hazelnut and chalky minerality, leading to a long, refreshing finish. Thanks to its structure and extended cellar aging before release, this non-vintage magnum can comfortably evolve for several more years, gaining additional complexity and creaminess while retaining its core freshness.
Production
La Cuvée is sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Champagne region of France, with an emphasis on cooler, chalk-rich sites that deliver tension, purity and minerality. Only the purest first pressing of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is used, ensuring delicacy and finesse. Grapes are harvested by hand, parcel by parcel, to preserve fruit integrity and allow precise selection. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to safeguard freshness and aromatics, followed by blending of multiple vintages to achieve the Laurent-Perrier house style. The wine then undergoes secondary fermentation in bottle and benefits from extended aging on the lees in the estate’s cool cellars, developing its fine mousse, subtle toastiness and signature elegance before disgorgement and dosage.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is exceptionally versatile at the table. It makes a perfect aperitif with oysters, caviar, sushi, or simple gougères, and pairs beautifully with delicate fish dishes, poached lobster, scallops, sashimi, light poultry, and fresh goat or soft-rind cheeses. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) to highlight its precision and freshness. Light aeration in the glass is usually sufficient, but for large gatherings you may decant gently into a chilled carafe just before serving to soften the mousse slightly and open the aromatics, especially from a magnum.
Producer
Founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne, Laurent-Perrier is one of Champagne’s most esteemed houses and a benchmark for elegant, Chardonnay-led blends.
