Larmandier Bernier Champagne Blanc de Blancs Latitude Extra Brut

Larmandier-Bernier Latitude is a non-vintage Blanc de Blancs Champagne made entirely from Chardonnay, offering a focused expression of the chalk-rich vineyards south of Vertus. Its name refers to the shared latitude of the estate’s key growing sites, while the Extra Brut style keeps the wine notably dry and precise.

Tasting Notes
Pale gold in appearance, with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose suggests citrus, orchard fruit and chalk, with the freshness and mineral character typical of Chardonnay grown on Champagne’s chalk soils. On the palate, expect a brisk, dry profile with lively acidity, subtle fruit and a clean, mineral finish. It is enjoyable on release and can develop additional complexity over the next few years when stored in a cool, dark place.

Production
The cuvée draws on Chardonnay from sites around the same latitude south of Vertus, where chalk-rich soils help shape its freshness and mineral character. Larmandier-Bernier is known for biodynamic viticulture and a low-intervention approach in the cellar; the wine is made using traditional Champagne methods, including secondary fermentation in bottle and lees ageing.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish or delicate poultry. Its dry, lively character also works well with hard cheeses. Decanting is not usually necessary; opening the bottle shortly before serving and letting the wine breathe in the glass is generally sufficient.

Larmandier-Bernier is a family-owned Champagne estate based in Vertus, with roots in the region’s winegrowing tradition and a reputation for Chardonnay-led wines that express their vineyard origins. The estate has been a biodynamic pioneer in Champagne, adopting biodynamic farming in the late 1990s and earning certification in 2003.
